Practice Area: Actions Against the Police
Kim qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and has dedicated her practice to protecting human rights and civil liberties throughout this period. She is joint Head of the Actions Against Police Department.
Kim specialises in the areas of Actions Against the Police and other detaining authorities, inquests arising out of deaths in custody, Prisoner Rights and Prison Law and Judicial Review. Kim has worked on numerous challenges against the police forces across the country for assault and battery, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, misfeasance in public office, discrimination and challenges under the Data Protection Act (1998) and Human Rights Act (1998), and, more recently, the Equality Act (2010). She has substantial experience in inquests and represents families of those who have died in police or prison custody, or following contact with the police. She has also assisted clients through the police complaints procedure and appeals to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
