Niall Shiels
Trainee Solicitor

Niall is currently a trainee solicitor within the criminal department and is due to qualify in November 2024.

He studied law at the University of Liverpool and subsequently did a master’s degree in International and Commercial Arbitration at the University of London Institute in Paris. He has also completed the Legal Practice Course in which he obtained a distinction. He has previously worked for a respected law firm in Belfast within their civil litigation department and also a nationwide criminal defence law firm in London, prior to moving to Imran Khan and Partners.

Niall has litigated and represented clients at the police station for the most serious offences, including murder, rape and drug offences.

A client charged with rape, whose matter subsequently got dropped by the Crown, recently wrote the following review:

“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Niall and Pratik for their outstanding support and professionalism in handling my case. From the very beginning, they were attentive, thorough, and always kept me informed at every stage of the process. Not only did they manage my case with exceptional skill and expertise, but they also helped alleviate the stress and anxiety that can come with such situations.

Their dedication to ensuring the best possible outcome was evident throughout, and their calm and reassuring approach gave me confidence and peace of mind. Niall and Pratik went above and beyond, addressing every concern and providing clear, concise advice when it was needed most.

I couldn’t have asked for better solicitors, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for legal representation that is not only effective but also genuinely supportive. Thank you both for your hard work and for achieving a successful resolution to my case.”
