NAZIR AHMED WINS APPEAL AGAINST SENTENCE IN LANDMARK JUDGMENT

Imran Khan KC of IK&P and Chloe Gardner of Nexus Chambers led arguments in the landmark judgment of R v Nazir Ahmed & Others in which they successfully appealed against Nazir Ahmed's sentence of 5 years 6 months imposed at Sheffield Crown Court on the 4th February 2022.

The Special Court hearing consisting of the Lord Chief Justice, the Vice President of the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) and Lord Justice Davis reduced the sentence to 2 years 6 months and gave guidance on the sentencing of adult offenders who had been convicted of offences when they were children.
