START OF INQUEST INTO THE DEATH OF SOVIYA RAJARATNAM
Imran Khan and Partners acts for the Family of Soviya Rajaratnam, a 19 year-old who died in September 2021 after she absconded on escorted leave while she was detained under section 2 of the Mental Health Act 1983 at Royal Bethlem Hospital.
Soviya was known to a network of professionals in the local area at Kingston Social Services and the South London and Maudsley (‘SLAM’) NHS Trust for a number of years prior to her death.
This Inquest will be heard by a jury at the South London Coroner’s Court in Croydon from 18 – 27 November 2024.
